It’s amazing how quickly the lazy days of summer pass. Fortunately, there is still a little over a month to enjoy these warm days at the pools, taking bike rides or long walks, or having picnics at a local park.
For those of you who are eligible to participate in the Back to School FDL supplies giveaway, please remember that there are only two days to sign up for Distribution Day. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or Monday, August 5 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m at the Salvation Army. There will be several trained volunteers assisting on those days who will be able to answer questions about eligibility and any other related questions.
Families need to provide a valid photo ID, proof of residence in the form of a current utility bill, rent receipt, as well as a government or W-2 document. A driver’s license/ID and proof of household income in the form of current pay stubs, bank statements, or paperwork showing free or reduced lunch is also acceptable. Families who qualify will be assigned a specific time on August 24 for children to “shop” with a volunteer for free school supplies.
